Halloween and science. Two of my favorite things.

I absolutely love Halloween. It is my favorite holiday.  I mean, where else can you have a holiday with vampires, zombies, pirates, and superheroes?

Christmas?  That would make for an interesting holiday.  Zombie Santa could be fun.

I also love science, but do these really mix? Science and Halloween?

Well according to the 2010 Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off, they do mix.  The heaviest pumpkin ever clocked in at nearly a ton.  Fun with selective breeding.  Check out the story here.
