The Devil Made Me Do It! ... Wait, No It Was the Computer!!

Computer use is apparently associated with increased alcohol consumption in teenagers.  If a computer is being used for anything besides education, including for social networking, drinking in teenagers is likely higher, although in reality, the EurekAlert! press release Teenage alcohol consumption associated with computer use, wasn't about computer use per say, but rather about online computer use.  So kids that like to play solitaire, are likely safe.

The exact reason why teenagers who utilize the internet are more likely to drink is not entirely known, however, I can say that peer pressure is strong on the internet, as least as  strong as it is in real life.  Probably even stronger.

In high school, you can have anyhwere between zero to a dozen or so friends.  In the internet you can millions of friends and influences.

A million different views worth of peer pressure, would likely influence the best of kids.
