US has fallen on the wayside when it comes to biomedical research, or any scientific research for that matter, and the world has noticed.
I know we are proud and stubborn, but the world has offered some tips to increase our research output for this country. The other countries may or may not have valid point and ideas, but I really think we should listen to them. Our present coarse is not working, so at least listening to other approaches might be a good idea.
